Frequently asked questions

AI photo restore — fix old damaged photos online

Archival photo restore is a steady paid search category (Snapedit Restore and similar): families and historians upload scratched, torn, dusty, or yellowed scans and want a cleaner print-ready file without inventing new faces.

Photo Restore repairs damage, revives faded tones, or gently denoises (~155 credits per run). Use Notes to mark problem areas. For black-and-white scans, restore first, then open Photo Colorize.

How to restore a damaged photo with AI

Upload a scan of the damaged print. Choose Fix damage for scratches and tears, Revive faded for yellowing, Denoise & sharpen for soft noisy scans, or Full restore for a combined pass. Add Notes like tear on the left edge. Download, then Colorize if the original was black and white.

Restore vs Enhancer, Colorize, and Object Remover

Restore is for aging damage. Enhancer is for modern soft/dark phone shots. Colorize adds color. Object Remover erases clutter that is not physical print damage. Generative Expand can add border space after you have a clean restore.
